Growing together
the at home newborn session
$650
the experience
Newborn sessions take place in your Atlanta or Athens-area home, where your family is most comfortable and where so much of this chapter is actually happening.
The session is intentionally untimed. Most last around two hours, but I don't watch the clock.
We stop when baby needs to eat. We change diapers. We soothe. We take breaks. We let older siblings wander away and come back. There is no pressure to make a newborn behave according to a photography schedule.
The result is a collection that holds both the big picture and the tiny details—your baby in your arms, their little hands and feet, the nursery you prepared, quiet moments in bed (or wonderfully chaotic ones with older siblings), and all the ordinary, beautiful ways your family is growing into something new.

questions & answers
When should we have our newborn session?
I generally recommend photographing newborns sometime within the first few weeks after birth.
But babies don't arrive according to schedules, and postpartum life is postpartum life.
We'll use your due date as a placeholder rather than choosing an exact session date ahead of time. Once baby arrives and you have a sense of how everyone is doing, we'll choose the actual day together.
What if my baby won't sleep?
Then we'll photograph an awake baby.
Your baby does not need to sleep through the session for us to make beautiful photographs. We'll follow their cues, and there's plenty of time for feeding, changing, rocking and settling whenever they need it. However, don’t worry too much: since sessions are so relaxed and lengthy, babies typically have some sleep and wake time and we will get to photograph both during our time.
What if the baby cries?
They probably will at some point, and that's completely normal. We have time. You can soothe them however you normally would, and sometimes those very moments become some of the most meaningful photographs.
Do you pose newborns?
A little! I set aside a small part of the session for those sweet, classic newborn portraits—baby sleeping and softly wrapped, perhaps with their name beside them or another simple setup we’ve planned together beforehand.
Beyond that, I keep things natural. I’ll find the pretty pockets of light, offer gentle direction and prompts when you need them, and then step back when the real moments begin to unfold. The goal is never to overly pose your family, but to photograph you beautifully while still letting you feel like yourselves.
What if our house isn't photo-worthy?
You do not need a magazine-ready home.
I am looking for good pockets of light, texture and the pieces of your home that tell your family's story. We may photograph in only a few rooms, and I'll help determine where the light and setting will work best.
Please don't feel like you need to renovate (or panic-clean the entire place) before I arrive.
What should we wear?
I'll help you with that.
You'll receive guidance for choosing clothing that photographs beautifully while still feeling like you. The goal isn't to make everyone perfectly match; it's to create a soft, cohesive palette that lets the people in the photographs remain the focus.
Can siblings and pets be included?
Not only can they be, they need to be!
This isn't only a session about your newborn. It's about the family that has changed because they're here.
What if I'm not feeling very camera-ready after giving birth?
You decide how much you want to be photographed, and I'll photograph you thoughtfully and gently. There is no expectation that you look or feel any particular way after having your baby.
But I do strongly encourage you to exist in these photographs and allow me to photograph you in your most flattering light (I promise I’ll pleasantly surprise!).
Years from now, your child won't be looking for the things you may be noticing about yourself right now. They'll get to see what it looked like to be tiny enough to fit against you.
What if my baby is already a few weeks old?
That's completely okay. While the first few weeks are a lovely time to photograph this season, there isn't an expiration date on newborn photos. An older newborn may be a little more alert and less sleepy—and that can be beautiful, too. We'll photograph the baby you have, exactly as they are.
Do you bring wraps or props?
My approach is centered on your baby, your family, and your home rather than traditional newborn props. I do bring along a small collection of simple, neutral wraps and blankets to complement what you already have and give us a few beautiful options throughout the session.
If you have something sentimental—a handmade blanket, heirloom outfit, or anything special to your family—I’d love to incorporate that, too.
Does the nursery need to be finished?
Not at all. A finished nursery can be lovely to photograph, but it isn't necessary for a beautiful session.
Babies have a funny way of arriving whether we've checked everything off the list or not. We'll use the spaces in your home that feel good and photograph beautifully—even if the nursery still has an unopened box sitting in the corner.
Can grandparents be included?
Absolutely. If grandparents are an important part of these early days, they're welcome to join us for a portion of the session.
These photographs aren't only about how tiny your baby is. They're also about the people who loved them from the very beginning.
What if I have a C-section or a difficult recovery?
Your recovery comes first. Always.
We can give you more time before scheduling, keep you comfortable throughout the session, take breaks whenever you need them, and choose poses that don't require you to move or position yourself in ways that hurt.
How far do you travel?
My at-home newborn sessions are available throughout and between the Atlanta and Athens area. If you're a little farther away, please still reach out! Depending on your location, I may be able to travel to you for an additional travel fee.
When will we receive our photos?
Your finished photographs will be delivered in a private online gallery within about a month of your session.
You'll receive an average of 100+ individually finished images in full-resolution format, with six months of gallery access to download, share, revisit, and order additional artwork.
